How changelog automation works

Three steps from "we shipped it" to "everyone knows".

1. Connect your assistant

Add https://mcp.announcekit.app/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client. Log in, approve, done - no token to copy. Developers can also run npx announcekit-mcp locally.

2. Tell it what shipped

Point at an issue, a PR, or just describe the change. The AI reads your past posts, matches your tone, drafts the announcement, and picks the category and segment.

3. Publish everywhere at once

One publish call sends the update to your changelog page, in-app widgets, email subscribers, Slack, and RSS. Or keep it as a draft for human review first.

Everything your AI can do over MCP

Read and write, never destroy. Deletes and billing stay in the dashboard, tokens are scoped read or write, and every connection can be revoked in Settings.

  • Draft, update, publish, and schedule posts
  • Read feedback, create and reply to feature requests
  • Read the roadmap and add items or statuses
  • Read post stats and NPS scores
  • No delete or billing actions - ever

Works with your workflow

From Linear, Jira, or GitHub to your users

Agents that see your project tools through their own MCP servers can close the loop with AnnounceKit: work moves to Done, the agent drafts the matching announcement, and your customers hear about it while it is still news.

Ask your assistant to announce what just shipped, or make it a step in your agent workflow. For triggers without an agent, the GraphQL API and 11 webhook events, plus Zapier, cover the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How do I automate my changelog with AI?

Connect the AnnounceKit MCP server to your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any Model Context Protocol client). Once connected, the assistant can read your changelog, draft announcements from your description or your shipped work, and publish or schedule them straight from the chat. One published post is delivered to your changelog page, in-app widgets, email subscribers, Slack, and RSS.

What is the AnnounceKit MCP server?

It is an official Model Context Protocol server that gives AI assistants safe access to your AnnounceKit project: list, read, draft, update, publish, and schedule posts; read feedback and create or reply to feature requests; read the roadmap and add items; and read post stats and NPS. It is read and create/update/publish only - there are no delete or billing actions.

How do I connect AnnounceKit to Claude?

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, and enter https://mcp.announcekit.app/mcp. Claude sends you to AnnounceKit to log in and approve the connection - no token to copy. Cursor and other MCP clients connect with the same URL; developers can also run the server locally with npx announcekit-mcp.

Does changelog automation work with ChatGPT and Cursor?

Yes. Any MCP-compatible client works: add https://mcp.announcekit.app/mcp as a remote MCP server. In Cursor, add it to mcp.json. In ChatGPT, remote MCP connectors are available through Developer Mode. Local stdio setup is also supported with npx announcekit-mcp and an API token.

Can my agents publish updates when work ships in Linear, Jira, or GitHub?

Yes, by composing MCP servers. An agent that can see your Linear, Jira, or GitHub activity through their own integrations can use the AnnounceKit MCP server to draft and publish the matching announcement. Ask your assistant to announce what just shipped, or build the step into your agent workflow so release notes go out the moment work is done.

Is it safe to let an AI publish my announcements?

The MCP server has no destructive actions: deletes and account or billing changes stay in the dashboard. API tokens have read or write scopes, act at the creating member's role, and can be revoked any time under Settings. If you prefer a human in the loop, have the AI create drafts and publish them yourself from the dashboard.
